august already?
Wow, this year is flying by! Can't believe that school will be starting again in 17 days! (I'm sure the kids can't believe it, either!)
August 2nd was the last day of our library's summer reading program. Here Ben is showing off his completed reading sheet ~ both he and Nick won all sorts of coupons and prizes for their reading! (Emm read a bunch, too, but didn't participate in the program this year ~ at her grade level, she would have to do a lot of extra stuff in order to win prizes, and she didn't want to.)
A "wild" sunflower growing up under our bird feeder:
My purple coneflowers are finally in bloom:
And we're finally starting to get some tomatoes, too!
Aug. 5th was Ben's last day of Kids' Quest camp. He really loved going there all throughout the summer, a couple of days each week! Here he is with his camp counselor, Miss Kaitlin. They were both very fond of each other! :)
And now we are getting ready for a week in the Boundary Waters! We'll be heading out first thing tomorrow morning. Can't wait to see Dad and Christine, and to enjoy the wilderness once again. :) I'm sure I will have lots more photos to share when we come home!
