note to self

Someday you will miss the life you have right now. Some things are easy to imagine missing, like those sweet, sticky, unprompted little kisses or those moments when a small hand reaches out for your own or the sight of a precious little body fast asleep in the crib, arm curled around a worn, loved bunny. You will miss the rest of it, too, though:
  • You will miss making peanut butter sandwiches for lunch every single day.
  • You will miss reading Zoe's Purple Pants 30 times in a row.
  • You will miss watching JoJo's Circus over and over and over and over.
  • You will miss the pitter patter of little feet and the clompity-clomp of bigger feet, reminiscent of a herd of elephants tromping down the stairs.
  • You will miss that persistent little alarm clock that doesn't seem to have a snooze button... "Mama! Mama! Mama! MAMA!!"
  • You will miss wiping fingerprints off the walls, the windows, the mirrors, the tv....
  • You will miss tripping over that pile of blocks, Legos, stuffed animals, books, and toy cars in the living room.
  • You will miss car seats and sippy cups, security blankets and high chairs.
  • You will miss backpacks thrown on the floor and complaints about homework.
  • You will even miss the dirty diapers and the constant bickering.

Someday the house will be quiet, and you will wish it wasn't.

Until then, please do your best not to take this life... this crazy, happy chaos... for granted. Embrace it. Treasure these moments. Live this life to its very fullest.

Because you WILL miss it....

Love, Janelle
